Faces of Future Chales Gaines
Sep 01- Dec 24, 2014
In this revealing series of photographs, Charles Gaines invites us into the diverse stories of children in many different countries and circumstances. Each photography captures a moment of smiling children.
All of the photos are in black and white since he believes color plays an important role in how we perceive the world around us. Therefore, when he chooses to shoot a photograph in black and white, it drastically changes what's in front of the lens. The project, in all its diversity, is frankly observant and often surprising. The subjects convey the simple truth that all children, whether from a first- or third-world economy, need to be nurtured and protected. Through his photos of children, he conveys his idea that we are responsible to keep their happiness for the future. His call to action is that we might walk away changed, viewing every child we meet as an individual in need of love and care.
