To be fair, I have to qualify my review by saying it is based solely on ordering a sandwich to go. I didn't try any of their coffee drinks or other beverages during my visit. I ordered a grilled sandwich that consisted of cheddar cheese, avocado, tomato, and baby spinach pressed in between two slices of heartily grained bread. It was served with some corn tortilla chips on the side. I thought the price was a little high: $8 for this combination. I wouldn't have minded paying a dollar or two less for this sandwich, which I feel would have still been in the ballpark of a fair price for it. I did enjoy the sandwich however. It had a good amount of ingredients, especially avocado. As I ate it, the flavors seemed to meld and improve overall. The bread may have been lightly buttered, which also added to the taste. The portion size was ok, more suitable for a snack or light meal in my opinion. I felt satisfied but not full after consuming it. I wasn't overly impressed with the interior. It seemed somewhat bland and was rather nondescript as far as coffee shops go. I'm biased towards funkier, comfier spaces when it comes to these types of establishments, though they did have a small couch near the door that I sat on while I waited a few minutes for my order. Overall the inside was plain and hard-lined, with square wooden tables which did nothing for the aesthetics. It was also dark inside, practically cave-like, which is fine for someone working on a laptop, but my vision was temporarily blurry as my eyes had to adjust after stepping inside from a bright, sunny day. The location has pros and cons. My reason for stopping in was to grab a snack while walking around the square, and it's probably the closest place for a quick drop in in the vicinity. Otherwise, on the con side, I don't see myself going out of my way to go back because of the location. It's probably more of a neighborhood spot than one that gets lots of foot traffic. Not saying that's a bad thing, just that for myself given other choices and having to go out of my way to get to any of them, I'd personally go elsewhere. Though if I'm in the area again, I would give them another try, especially for some coffee.
