I realize that academia is not so keen on the use of appropriation as of yet, so in areas where I am channeling the voice of others, I have linked the source in the most accurate way that I could. I don't write many academic texts, but using someone else's thoughts as my own, and reading them on the page as if I wrote them, helps me decide whether I agree or not. If were to own those thoughts, I'd want to be responsible for them, and this I find is a really great way for me to think through and understand new ideas.
